Phoebe's Pancake Palooza

The Millers are a big part of our experience here in Asheville. Their 4-year-old daughter Phoebe has been recently diagnosed with Chiari Malformation Type 1. Long story short, it is likely she will need multiple brain surgeries throughout her lifetime- beginning next month. Even with adequate insurance, tens of thousands of dollars will not be covered. Will you help? Please visit for more information about the Millers, the chiari condition and ways you can support them during this time.
We are helping with a fundraiser for her August 7th in the historic Kenilworth neighborhood. There will be a 5K/fun run, pancake breakfast, bluegrass bands and inflatable bouncy houses for the kids! Interested in the race? Register online. Need a pancake breakfast ticket? Let us know, we have them to sell- lots of them!

River Play Day

I (Kassie) had a blast with some friends on Warren Wilson's River Trail! We hiked on family-friendly terrain (for the most part:), and played in the river!!! It was really nice to see friends from different social circles connecting and enjoying one another in the great outdoors. We enjoyed a picnic lunch on the rocks and met another family who was there to enjoy the beauty.
What a day! Complete with sunshine, cool water and good friends. Did I mention that I chased my frisbee down the river? And that we encountered a copperhead? Yeah, we were on our way out anyways!

One Sunday a month, the Canvas community throws a party!
This last party was at our place: a yard party... complete with frisbees, footballs, grilling out, family, friends and corn hole!
It definitely felt like summertime.
